Every foodie (and/or Instagram model) is familiar with avocado toast, the popular breakfast item. In all seriousness, the fitness fad is a simple, quick, and inexpensive way to add some healthy creativity to your breakfast routine (and post some artsy pictures while you’re at it). As with any food, portion control is key. Avocados are full of fatty acids which are fantastic for your body, in moderation, and will keep you full until lunch time. This recipe is gluten-free and allergy friendly, since it’s all about personal choice: the bread, the toppings, even how long you toast your bread. Make it your own, and if you get bored, switch up your additions to refresh this go-to recipe.
½ ripe avocado
1 piece of bread of choice
Toppings (listed below)
Toast your bread of choice in a toaster, pan, or toaster oven.
Peel, pit, and mash up ½ of a ripe avocado.
Spread avocado on top of the toast.
Salt and pepper
Red pepper flakes
Goat cheese, other cheese
Everything But the Bagel seasoning from Trader Joe’s (Macy’s favorite)
